Ventura, CA – Soter Point consists of a picnic area, landscaping, new benches and a 15-foot tall flute-playing mermaid in bronze. This is a public/private partnership between the City of Ventura and three of its residents and was designed in memory of Andrea. The public is invited to the dedication of Soter Point at Marina Park, located at the eastern terminus of Pierpont Boulevard, on Thursday, April 21, from 10 am to noon. A reception follows the dedication ceremony of short presentations by project cosponsors Sam Povar, Andy Soter and Alec Benke, and a performance by the 28-member Ventura Choraliers featuring Barbara Reed and Kate Ford.
